One of the four Char Dhams, Badrinath temple is located inUttarakhand. Lord Badrinath is worshipped in the temple which is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Badrinath temple is one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in India. It is situated along the beautiful banks of river Alakananda. The temple houses a black stone statue of Vishnu which is 3.3 ft. tall and falls under one of the eight swayamvyaktakshetras. Mata MurtiKaMela is the most prominent festival celebrated in this temple.

Sri Jagannath temple is also one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage spots of the country and is located in the coastal town of Puri. It’s a well-known famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Built in the 12th century, it’s considered as one of the most important and holiest pilgrimage spots of India. The presiding deities of the temple are Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu along with Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra. RathYatra or Chariot festival is the hugely popular annual festival of the temple

Sri VenkateswaraSwamy temple is considered to be the richest temple of the world along with being the most visited place of worship in terms of donations received and wealth.  It is located in the hill town Tirumala at Tirupati. The temple worships the idol of Lord Venkateswara, another form of Lord Vishnu. The temple is constructed in Dravidian architecture and is known as ‘the temple of seven hills’. The most prominent festival celebrated here is the annual Brahotsavam, during which around 500,000 pilgrims visit the place.

The temple of UlagalandaPerumal temple is located in Kanchipuramandis dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Dravidian styled construction is glorified in the DivyaPrabandha. Lord UlagalanthaPerumal, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu is worshipped here. It is also one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Every day, the temple follows and performs six rituals along with celebrating yearly festivals. RathYatra or the Chariot festival is the most popular here.

Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Dravidian styled architectural marvel located in Thiruvanthapuram. It is also the richest Hindu temple in the world. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu who is enshrined in the position of ‘AnanthaSayanam’ or the eternal yogic sleep of the serpent Adisheshan. The temple has a strict dress code and is open to only Hindu devotees. The most prominent festivals celebrated here are Alpashy and Panguni.
