What is Artistic Yoga?

Pranadharna:
This is the first Bharat Thakur Artistic Yogaasana that must be done under artistic yoga.
- Begin by standing straight and look in front of you.
- Join your hands in prayer.
- Keep your hands in the center of your chest.
- Close your eyes and take deep breaths. Inhale and exhale for 5-10 minutes.
- Then release and relax for a while
UrdhvaDhanurasana / Upward Bow Pose:
- Begin by kneeling down on the floor.
- Lift your hands up in the air and bend backward as much as you can.
- Get off of your knees, by bending your legs, such that the soles of your feet touch the floor.
- Now bend your hands at your elbows. The palms must touch the ground beside your head, and the forearms must be perpendicular to the floor.
- Pressing your feet and palms firmly on the floor, with force push your body up from the floor.
- Firm your outer thighs and also move your upper thighs inward.
- Stay in this position for a while, taking deep breaths and then release.

Purvottanasana / Upward Plank Pose:
- Begin by sitting on the floor with your legs kept straight in front of you.
- Place your hands on either side of your body, a little behind your hips.
- Now bend your knees, such that the feet touch the floor.
- Your heels must not be a foot distance away from the hips.
- Raise your hips up, such that your body forms a reverse table pose.
- Straighten out your legs in front of you with heels touching the ground.
- Remain in this position for a few minutes, breathing deeply and then relax.
Bakasana / Crane Pose:
- Begin by standing straight on the floor.
- Lift your hands up to the ceiling and stretch them.
- Also, lift your body up on your toes and try to balance on your weight.
- Bring your feet back onto the floor.
- Bend down from your hips until your palm touches the ground.
- Now gently lift your legs off of the floor and bend your knees, place them against your arm.
- Look down at the floor, a little away from your hands and remain in this pose taking few breaths.
Hanumansana / Monkey Pose:
- Begin by kneeling down on the floor.
- Bring your right foot in front of your left knee.
- Now your left thigh must be rotated outward.
- Your body and chest must be moved forward.
- Bend your right knee to the back and keep your left knee straight so that you can lower your right thigh.
- Raise your hands up to the ceiling and join your hands in prayer. Look up to your hands. Close your eyes and relax.
ArdhaChandrasana / Half Moon Pose:
- Begin this Bharat Thakur Artistic Yogaasana by standing straight on the floor.
- Raise your arms such that they are in line with your body and parallel to the floor.
- Lift your right leg off of the ground at 90-degree angle.
- Also bend towards your left-hand side, untilyour left-hand touches the ground and is in line with your left leg.
- The right hand must be in a straight line with the shoulders and the left hand. Look upwards to your right hand. Remain steady for a few minutes and repeat the same on the other side.
Padahastasana / Hand Under Foot Pose:
- Begin by standing straight on the floor.
- Raise and stretch your hands up to the ceiling, slightly bending your body backward.
- Now bend forward all the way until you touch your feet with your fingers.
- Then slowly come back and stand straight. Relax.

Tips While Doing Artistic Yoga:
- Since it is done in a dancing style, try to be gentle and perform the poses similar to that of a dancing motion.
- You can also play some soothing music during your practice so that you can perform them in dance movement style.
