Tulsi or Holy Basil is a sacred plant for the Hindus. They use it during their ‘pujas’ and sometimes even the plants of Tulsi are worshiped. Rangoli’s are an ethnic part of festivals for the Hindus. Both the concepts the sacred plant and rangoli are at times blended together and called ‘Tulsi Rangolis’.

1. Typical Tulsi Rangoli Design:

In the picture above, we have the typical Tulsi Rangoli sketched in order to make it easy for the readers to understand how it is done. If you look closer to the picture you will be able to figure out that it has a particular pattern in which it has be drawn. The sharp edges of the flowery pattern has 4 diamond patterns in between them and on the top there I a flower, where the Tulsi plant is to be drawn.

2. Tulsi Plant Rangoli:

The Hindus usually have a cemented square area, made in order to plant their Tulsi plants. This makes them easier to do their usual worshiping. The design above shows us one such area which has been bordered with brown and white and on the inside it holds the ‘kolam’ designs specially for Tulsi Rangolis. On the uppermost area we can see a plant of tulsi drawn.

3. Colorful Rangoli Design:

We have a colorful rangoli above. The tilted square shape had been drawn at first with pink as the base, and then it was followed by the design in the center. We have a green flower pattern and a blue and then a pink pattern on top of that. There are four designs which connect to four sides and they again have red flower patterns drawn in between.

4. Tulsi Rangoli for Beginners:

Here we have a drawing of a Tulsi Rangoli which is useful for the beginners or the non-professionals to do a fine job. All they need to do is follow the steps of how the rangoli has been made and that is possible if they follow the dotted lines and see how the colors have been used.

5. Different Rangoli Design:

This, on the other side is a different sort of blending the concept of Tulsi and a rangoli together. This is a Tulsi plant, which is present at someone’s house and is worshipped. There are fine designs made surrounding the plant. The designs are all done in white and are pretty neat.

6. Tulsi and Lord Krishna Rangoli:

We see a very pretty rangoli above. It has been made in a rectangular area with a combination of two shiny colors of brown and blue for the base. On the left, we have a the portrait of Lord Krishna drawn and to the right we have a Tulsi tree and just above that we have Goddess Tulsi who has a garland in her hand, to put around Lord Krishna. This entire rangoli has been done with glittery rangoli colors and is very skillfully done.

7. Tulsi Rangoli with Leaves:

White rangoli has been used very finely to make the criss-cross designs of the tub of the tulsi plant. It looks shiny because of the special colors used and the leaves of the plant shows that it is a Tulsi Rangoli.

8. Simple Tulsi Rangoli Design:

A young lady seems to draw a Tulsi Rangoli in the middle of a road. She has first drawn the designs in white border and then is putting different colors of yellow, red, pink, blue, etc. to make her rangoli design look colorful.

9. Diwali Rangoli Design:

We see a Diwali rangoli above. It has been done very professionally blending different colors together. They have patterns of Diwali firecrackers, ‘diyas’ and designs drawn on the colors of blue, pink, green and maroon. In the extreme core we see the Tulsi plant drawn.
