You Need:

  • Ripe amlas.
  • Amlas – 2 cups.
  • Sugar – 2 cups.
  • Honey – ½ cup.
  • Edible camphor – a tiny pinch.
  • Saffron – ¼ tsp (warm & powder)


  • Wash it & dry the amlas.
  • Bundle them in a thin cloth & tie.
  • Allow plenty of water to boil in a broad vessel.
  • When the water boils, put the amla bundle in boiling water & boil for 5 min.
  • after boiling, open & cool the amlas.
  • Poke all over the surface of the amlas with a clean thick needle or toothpick.
  • Make syrup with sugar & 2 cups of water and allow it to boil.
  • Now add 1 tbsp milk.
  • Allow vigorous boiling.
  • Strain to get the clean syrup and keep the dirt aside.
  • When it becomes sticky (½ string consistency), add amlas.
  • Boil till one-string is reached.
  • Add honey & spices & allow boiling a little more.
  • Now remove from the burner allow it to cool & fill in a bottle.
  • Your honey soaked amla is ready to serve now!

You can also use amla juice with honey and warm water, by taking equal mixture of the juice and warm water with one spoon of honey. Drink this everyday on empty stomach.
